Engineering admissions will begin on June 18
Admission process for six autonomous engineering institutes in the state will begin from June 18, four days after the results of Maharashtra Common Entrance Test (MHT-CET) 2009 are declared. Autonomous institutes include two city-based institutes, College of Engineering, Pune and Vishwakarma Institute of Technology.
The remaining are Institute of Chemical Technology, Veermata Jijabai Technological Institute, both Mumbai, Shri Guru Gobind Sinhji Institute of Engineering and Technology, Nanded and Walchand College of Engineering, Sangli.
Autonomous institutes have a total of 2,665 seats and are most favoured by engineering aspirants, as five of them are government-aided.
Shikshan Shulka Samiti has approved a 10 per cent hike in fees for these five institutes taking fees of COEP to Rs 33,000 for this academic year.
Admission forms will be available from June 18 at all these institutes along with government colleges of engineering at Aurangabad, Amravati, Nagpur and Jalgaon Polytechnic, said in-charge of admissions N B Dhokey.
