Sheetal Mafatlal, president of Mafatlal Luxury, was arrested on Monday for allegedly carrying undisclosed jewellery and diamonds worth several lakhs of rupees. Mafatlal, who was on Sunday detained upon arrival at the Chhatrapati Shivaji International airport in Mumbai, has been booked under relevant sections of the Indian Customs Act and will be produced before a magistrate's court. Customs officials intercepted the socialite at the airport on specific information and found undisclosed jewellery estimated to be between Rs 51 lakh and one crore from her bag. Exact value of the recovered ornaments is yet to be ascertained.
