Sabbir Khan : We spent a lot on Kareena’s looks
Debutant director Sabbir Khan talks about the year’s most awaited Bollywood movie Kambakkht Ishq, which releases in the UAE today.
Not at all. The audience is mature enough not to confuse a reel-life character with a real-life person. In this movie he has played his character so well, he will certainly amaze the audience.

Excerpts Akshay Kumar got flak for unbuttoning his pants at a fashion show. And now you have him playing a male chauvinist who considers women as sex objects.
Are you worried the bad publicity surrounding him will rub off on the movie?

But hasn’t his stock dipped lately?
His last three films have flopped miserably. Akshay doesn’t worry about these things. And neither do I.

Is Kareena the USP of Kambakkht Ishq?
I shouldn’t be saying this, but we did spend a lot on her looks. I won’t be surprised if she turns out to be the USP of the movie.
Did Kareena sign a no-exposure clause and asked you to cut out certain scenes of hers?
That’s not true, because Kareena took great pains to choose the right bikini for one of the scenes.
How was it like working with Sylvester Stallone?
Frankly speaking, I had to hide my emotions every time I saw him. Despite being such a huge star, he’s very down to earth.
